New Plymouth Council – Pukekara Park Rejuvenation

The New Plymouth Council in New Zealand approached TerraLock in 2010 to trial an 8 metre section of an embankment in their large lake in Pukekura Park where the timber edging was showing signs of distress. Following the trial period of three years, the Council decided to expand the rejuvenation of the lakes system with a further 1.4 kilometres of TerraLock. The wall averages 1 metre high and approximately 750mm is under water. All together 14,000 TerraLock units were successfully installed and a year later most of the banks are now covered with ferns and grasses which have self seeded.
